John Deere has announced a new hydraulic coupler for its compact excavators, designed to reduce interruptions during operation.

The 16GE23 hydraulic coupler allows users to switch buckets without exiting the machine. It can be used on 35G, 50G and 60G excavators, and is compatible with John Deere Worksite Pro ™ attachments.

Its wedge bar locking system keeps the coupler joint tight, and the wedge-style bucket pickup allows excavators to maintain breakout forces by keeping weight down. The coupler itself can be activated with a rocker switch.

"The hydraulic coupler optimizes job site performance and productivity by simplifying the bucket-switching process, so projects are no longer interrupted by a complicated, manual attachment-changing procedure," said Mark Wall, excavator product marketing manager at John Deere Construction & Forestry. "This coupler was designed with smart features to quickly change attachments and keep operations up and running without enduring a long-drawn-out process."

All of the 35G, 50G and 60G Series compact excavators have Final Tier 4 emission-certified engines, meaning they are as efficient as they are powerful. The machines also have spacious operator stations with wider entryways for easy exiting and entering. Multifunction monitors display machine information, and convenient service doors provide access to the side-by-side cooler cores of the excavators.
